The building now known as Hall Auditorium was completed in 1908, being renamed in 1969
after Miami's fifth president, John W. Hall. A top-to-bottom renovation of the building,
completed in 1992, replaced old equipment with state-of- the-art light and sound systems and
created a beautiful, warm, acoustically precise venue with a new stage that is almost double
the size of the old facility.
Now with seating at 735 capacity, Hall Auditorium is the site for most of the Music
Department's major concerts, as well as many concerts produced and supported by the
university's Performing Arts Series. It currently houses the Performing Arts Series Office
and the Philosophy Department.
Parking available in several lots on campus and along Campus Avenue.
Fully accessible. Please contact the Box Office 3 days in advance for assisted listening

Shriver Center: Multi-Purpose Room
As part of the renovation in the 1980s, the Multi-Purpose Rooms were added to the Shriver Center to provide
space for larger activities. Whether used as a single room or separated by noise-reduction partitions into three
individual areas, the Multi-Purpose Rooms are in constant demand.
With the partitions neatly hidden inside wall pockets, the Multi-Purpose Room (often called the MPR) is ideal for
Weddings, Proms and Banquets. Also popular as a 750-seat Theatre, it utilizes a large pull-down video screen and
background sound systems.
One or both partitions may be pulled into place to create alternative configurations. This flexibility allows as
many as three groups to use the space simultaneously or one group to utilize the space in three different set-ups
at once.
