Room Selection for 2014-2015
Newly accepted students for the 2014-2015 academic year may access their Housing and Meal Plan Contract at www.muohio.edu/housingcontract to request their room type and roommate. Housing assignments for newly admitted students will be emailed in late summer. The room selection information below is for current first-year students who are currently living on campus.

Room Selection for 2014-2015

ProcessDate

Timeline
  • Beginning on Monday, April 14 from 9:00am through Friday, April 18 at 5:00pm, students may go online to their MyCard Account to enter the First-Year Residence Hall Room Selection Lottery. Random balloons will appear on your screen for you to choose from. When a balloon is selected, it will pop and a time will appear. This is your time for selecting a room.

  • After popping a balloon, you can view online floor plans and currently available rooms so that you are prepared to select the room of your choice when your selection time occurs.

The Residence Hall online room selection is for all first-year students that do not already have a room on campus for 2014-2015 to select their room. This process will give you the flexibility to search for available rooms and pull-in roommates of your choice.

Timeline
  • On Wednesday, April 23 beginning at 9am room selection will occur. Be sure to login to your MyCard Account to select your room at the time you received in the lottery. Once you have selected your room, you must complete your online contract by 7am the following day. Failure to submit the contract could result in the loss of your preferred room. In order to invite a roommate, you must sign your contract within 20 minutes of choosing your room.

  • Students who do not choose a lottery time are invited to select a room beginning on Wednesday, April 23 at 9pm through Thursday, April 24 at 9am.

If you are interested in changing rooms, we will begin an online room change request list for:

  • upper-class students beginning at 9 a.m. on November 19.

You will be able to submit a request directly from your MyCard Account page. During the spring and summer months, we will learn of students who will not be returning to University housing, enabling our office to satisfy a high percentage of student request. If a space becomes available that matches your preferences, we will honor your request and change your assignment. You will then be notified by email. By completing an online request, you are not necessarily guaranteed a room change. However, we will strive to fulfill your request by working very hard during the summer. In past years, we have prided ourselves on the fact that our success rate for accommodating room change requests has been very high!
